Welcome, 2nd Trimester!

Baby Glasgow is now about the size of a nutter butter!

Welcome 2nd trimester...I love you already! The second trimester brings a greater sense of peace that the pregnancy is progressing normally, an increased appetite, a lack of sickness, etc. The last week was wonderful....almost so wonderful that I began wondering if I was still pregnant because I felt like my old self again. Our last several Sunday School lessons have been on not being anxious, and not worrying, but rather trusting that the Lord is in control. So, I am trying to completely turn this pregnancy over to God, and pray for His will to be done in our child's life...easier said than done, but I am getting better. I know that it is the first of many things with this little one that I will have to turn over to Him! Making it through the first trimester does make it a little easier to not worry as much, though.

Joey was wonderful through the first three months. I was not the easiest person to live with, but he stuck in there with me, and I am so thankful for him. For several weeks, I was sick most nights, and took three hour naps a day. It was not uncommon for me to wake up to a prepared dinner, the laundry finished, and our house cleaned. When I was sick, he was always there to hold my hair, hand me a wet rag, or do anything that I needed. When I first met "hot guy #2," I never imagined that our love could grow so deeply. He is always there for me, no matter what. He has taken on many new responsibilities, such as changing the litter, and never complains. If I ever mention a certain food that I want, he makes sure that I get it. The other night, he asked me what I wanted for supper. I told him that I would love some teriyaki chicken, so he made it for me. I took one look at it, and thought that I would be sick. He didn't get upset, didn't complain, but simply put it away for his lunch the next day and helped me make something else. This pregnancy has made me love him even more than I already did. I know that the next part of our life will be wonderful, exhausting, incredible, trying, and every other emotion ranging from the best to worst. I am so thankful that this child will have Joey for his/her daddy. He is already showing what an incredible father he will be by the way that he cares for his child's mother. I guess I will let it slide that he has been calling our child Hector...yes, you read that right--Hector! :)

What's going on with the baby at 13 weeks?

Here is what little "Hector" is doing:

**He/she is able to make a fist and suck his/her thumbs.

**His/her ribs are growing.

**His/her intestines have moved into the correct position.

**His/her tooth sockets are in place and ready to produce teeth later on in life.

**His/her vocal cords are complete and in place.
