Merry Christmas!

Before we could celebrate Christmas, we had to get his yucky 4 month shots out of the way. Here is my poor little buddy with his band-aids. He got a good report from the doctor. He was in the 75th percentile for weight and 90th percentile for height. He continues to be a happy, easy baby. He does not sleep through the night-never has! He laughs a lot, and loves to be held up high and then brought back down. He will wake up and turn his head at the sound of Joey's voice. The two of them are inseparable. On his last day of school, his teachers sent him a present.
They made an ornament for him and gave him this picture.
Joey and I always get together with some friends the week of Christmas and watch the movie Christmas Vacation. Andrew joined in on the tradition this year.

Looking at Christmas lights with Amy:
Our family went to Wetumpka to celebrate Christmas. John Marshall supervised as Joey got Andrew dressed for the Christmas Eve service at our church.
Andrew loves his cousin, John Marshall. Look at the HUGE difference between their eyes. John Marshall's couldn't be any bluer and Andrew's couldn't be any browner.
On Christmas morning, Santa Claus brought John Marshall a new tricycle.
John Marshall took his job of collecting trash very seriously. Here he is waiting for his mom to finish opening her present so that he can get her trash.
Andrew got way too many presents on his first Christmas!

Helping Daddy open more presents:
Joey and I also got a lot of great gifts. We racked up on gift cards!
Joey got new paintball equipment.
I continued a family tradition by getting this bracelet. The women in my family wear these slide bracelets with the birthstones of their children, grandchildren, and husbands on them. I got my bracelet and first slide (peridot for August) on Christmas morning.
We got so many wonderful presents. Another favorite was a painted picture of my Meemaw's house. I also got perfume, clothes, and more jewelry. Joey got Bama DVD's, clothes, and money.
After Christmas in Wetumpka, we drove back to Tuscaloosa to celebrate with the Glasgow side of our family.

Cade and Cole got new games for their DSi and new art supplies.

Joey and I opened Andrew's presents for him, but
he kept a close eye on us from Jan's lap!
As always, Uncle Jo Jo put everything together for the boys.
While we were at Paw Paw's house, Andrew ROLLED OVER for the first time!!!! All of the excitement was too much for our little man!
Santa Claus visited our house. He brought Andrew the exesaucer below, and I placed all of Andrew's other gifts around him from all of his family.
One of Andrew's favorite toys is a singing seahorse that he got named Simon.
The exesaucer was a big hit! Here are some pictures of him playing with his new toy:)

4 months

Andrew is 4 months old today. He is such a good, sweet, happy baby. So much has happened in the last month. I have gone back to work full-time. He has had an ear infection, toe infection, and a cold. He loved going to daycare over the past month. He had his first babysitter, and celebrated Thanksgiving.

The last several days have also brought back a lot of memories of my pregnancy with him. I found out that I was pregnant on Friday, December 4, 2009. That night, I got extremely sick. I was with my mother and sister in Birmingham, and the three of us tried everything to get my fever down. I had a high fever on and off all weekend. On Sunday night (December 6th), my doctor told me to prepare myself for the probable possibility that I would lose the baby due to the length and strength of the fever. I had to go in Monday, December 7th to have bloodwork done to check the baby. Of course, they could not give me the results right away. I will never forget standing in the food court in University Mall on the night of the 7th when the nurse called me. She said that the baby was a fighter and looked great! Now, that little fighter is 4 months old!

Andrew's teacher celebrated a birthday this week. He loves his teachers so much. Joey and I are so thankful for them!
Even more than his teachers, Andrew loves trying to eat his feet. He would do this all day long if we let him.
Look at my sweet 4 month old!
BLOOPERS:
For some reason, it was especially hard to get our monthly picture tonight. At first, he just wanted to sleep.
Take a guess at what he wanted to do once he woke up. That's right, play with his feet!
Then, he wanted to love on Donald.

This photo session was exhausting!

Thanksgiving Weekend

We have sure made the most of our 5 days off! We have been so busy, but we were able to see a lot of family.

Wednesday
I was off work on Wednesday, but Joey was not. Andrew and I spent the morning together at home and then took lunch to Joey at work. Andrew had never been to Mercedes before, so it was nice to be able to show him to some of Joey's friends. After Joey got home, we went to Moundville to Uncle George (Joey's mom's brother) and Aunt Laura's house to have Thanksgiving dinner.

Paw Paw and his buddy:
Andrew loves to work on sitting up with his Aunt Holly.

It was very yummy-especially Laura's green bean casserole!
Hmmm...I wonder what Joey is the most thankful for this year??
Cade and Cole came in cute matching outfits.
Joey and I didn't get to hold Andrew much that night. He thought that Aunt Laura was very funny.
Aunt Debbie and Aunt Laura would take turns stealing him from each other. He's a lucky little boy to have some many people who love him!
Thursday
On Thursday, we woke up very early and went to Wetumpka. I love being home on Thanksgiving day! Susan, Marshall, and John Marshall spent Thanksgiving at the beach with Marshall's side of the family, so they are not in any of these pictures:(
I have a lot to be thankful for in my life, but these two are pretty high on the list:)Andrew with Aunt Amy (my dad's sister) and New Bob:
Family picture on Thanksgiving Day:
My brother, Steve and my dad:
Time to eat...If you have never experienced a Karen Reneau Thanksgiving, you are missing out!
Ever since my mom found out how much Joey loves banana pudding, she makes it from scratch for him all of the time. Does it matter that I HATE banana pudding?? NOOOO, because Joey is her baby!

Guncle Steve and Aunt Olivia--I don't think I have mentioned yet that Andrew will be an honorary ring bearer (with his cousin, John Marshall) in their wedding on May 21st! In the Reneau house, everyone relaxes after the big meal...
and many fall asleep!

Friday
Joey and I got up early on Friday morning, left Andrew in Wetumpka (can you believe it?) and went to Tuscaloosa for the Iron Bowl. I think it took us about 30 minutes and several "one more" kisses to tell him good-bye. This was the first time that I have ever spent the night away from him. While I knew that he was in good hands, it was still really hard.

On the quad before the game:

Because of Andrew, I had not gone to any games this season. It's a shame because I really liked the view our seats. Roll Tide!

Joey and I went to dinner after the game and went to bed at 7:04!!! We slept for 10 hours, and it was WONDERFUL!

Saturday
We both woke up at about 5-Joey went to work, and I went to Wetumpka. Andrew, my mom and I spent the entire day Christmas shopping. I wanted to buy ONE outfit for Andrew at Storkland in Montgomery. Notice the my stroller is packed down with clothes for my little man, and I (of course) lost the fight and did not get to buy any of them.
He was absolutely exhausted after shopping all day.
Saturday was also my nephew's 2nd birthday. HAPPY BIRTHDAY, JOHN MARSHALL!
Sunday
Andrew and I drove back home to Tuscaloosa. We are now waiting on Joey to get off of work so that we can spend the evening together. It's been a great, long weekend!
