"Anbrew's" Cousins

Becuase I grew up without any cousins, I am very excited that Andrew will have so many. Cade calls the baby Anbrew and is anxious to teach him one thing: not to play with fire. Anytime we talk to Cade about the baby, he mentions the fact that he is going to have to teach him about fire safety. Cole is really not impressed with the pregnancy, but likes to rub his stomach whenever the baby is discussed. Here is a picture of Andrew's youngest cousin (John Marshall) in his Easter outfit with a friend's bunny. I hope that Andrew shares John Marshall's love for animals!

Twenty weeks down, twenty weeks to go!

I can't believe that I am halfway there! The first twenty weeks have flown by. I still have the voicemail recording from my doctor calling to confirm the pregnancy, and that feels like it was just a couple of weeks ago. Andrew will be here before we know it! I feel wonderful still. Now that the weather is pretty, I am able to walk a lot, and that makes me feel even better. We will get another ultrasound in two days, and I am so excited to see how much he has grown. As far as development, he has everything in place right now. His main focus is gaining weight. I still have not felt any kicks, but most of my pregnant friends say that they felt the first kicks in the 21st week. I will post ultrasound pictures as soon as we get them.

Happy Birthday, Randi!

We had a surprise party for our best friend, Randi this weekend to celebrate her 26th birthday. We love you, Randi! I don't know why this picture is so blurry:( I am 19 weeks, 4days here.

19 weeks

The bump is starting to grow! I still have not felt Andrew kick, but I kind of like the anticipation of wondering what the first kick will feel like. This picture was taken at about 8 o'clock at night. I could be crazy, but I feel like my "bump" gets bigger throughout the day. I can tell a pretty big difference between the way I look in the mornings and how I look in the evenings. I guess this is normal??? As far as Andrew's development, everything is in place. He is now just straightening out and fattening up! I am now one pound heavier than my pre-pregnancy weight. During the first trimester, I lost around 6-8 pounds. I have now gained those back and added an additional pound. I hope that everyone is having a great week so far!

18 weeks

I am 18 weeks pregnant today! As far as I know, everything is going well with Andrew. We do not go to the doctor again until April 1st. He is now about 6 inches long, and everything that I read says that he is supposed to be 5 ounces by the 18th week. He was already 5 ounces at our 15 week appointment, so I am guessing that he is much larger now. According to several sources, he should now be the size of a large tomato.People are asking me if I am able to feel him yet, and honestly I am not sure. I feel "bubbles" in my stomach a lot, but I have not felt any kicks yet. I always feel the bubbles at night when I am still. I think that it is him, but I am really not sure. I am really trying to have a "complaint free" pregnancy. When people ask me how I am doing, I try really hard to be positive and to remember what a blessing it is to be carrying Andrew. I know several people struggling with infertility or recent miscarriages, so I want to always remember how lucky I am. With that being said, I must complain about one thing, and I will try to make this the only thing....holy cow, my heartburn is terrible! I never had heartburn until pregnancy, but I get it after pretty much anything that I eat! One new talent that Andrew has this week is the ability to yawn. One of the most amazing things about the 18th week is that Andrew can now hear! He listens to a lot of Travis Cottrell in the car and Ralph's purring when he's snuggled up next to me:)

And his name is...

Robert Andrew Glasgow
Joey and I have finally decided on the name, and we love it. We will call him Andrew. Here are the people our little buddy is named after:
Robert-My dad, brother, and uncle all have Robert in their names. It was important to me to have at least one name that represented the Reneau/Blankenship family. I have always loved the name Robert, too.
Andrew-This name was selected to honor Joey's best friend, Andy. The two of them are more like brothers than friends, and we would be very proud if our son grew up to be anything like Andy!
