Our MESSY Den
This is what our den looks like on a typical night...a complete wreck! As we ate dinner at a restaurant tonight, an elderly lady stopped at our table to talk. She said that she had two sons who were now grown men and to enjoy these days with my babies. People tell young moms that all of the time. I am sure I will miss these days, but it will be nice to not have a den that looks like this! Andrew has a corner for all of his toys, but he flings everything out each night. The fireplace has padding to cushion his falls. A kitchen chair is on its side in front of the entertainment center to protect our cable boxes from tiny fingers. Milk spots cover the couches from sippy cups being turned over, and the list goes on. My (incredibly neat) husband will probably kill me for posting this picture, but this book is for my boys. Hopefully, they will grow up in a much neater house, but I would like them to see what it looked like when they were babies.3 months
I am so late posting this, but HAPPY THREE MONTHS, JOEY! Here is some information about my favorite 3 month old:*You are wearing size 6 month clothes.
*You are wearing size 1-2 diapers, but you really need the size 2.
*You roll over when you are swaddled in your crib. This causes you to wake up screaming. You have not rolled over on the floor yet.
*You generally only get up once or twice during the night. As long as you have a paci, you are a pretty good sleeper. Some nights, I have to get up several times to put your paci back in.
*You are called "The Snuggler" at daycare.
*You recognize me and smile when I pick you up each day.
*You love to laugh and make a grunting sound that we call "clearing your throat."
*You are currently on a soy based formula. We have had so many issues with your tummy this month--an entire post in itself. Despite several diet changes, you were not able to tolerate my breastmilk, so it is all sitting in a deep freezer for you in hopes that you will be able to drink it soon. The research on soy is scary, so I want you off of it ASAP, but it is the only thing that has given your stomach any comfort.
*You are a huge mama's boy.
*You like to be wrapped up like a burrito in your blanket.
*You love to be on the changing table.
*You like baths, and your favorite part is having your hair washed.
*Like your brother, you put your right arm above your head when you get sleepy.
*You do not have an ounce of patience when it comes to feeding. Once I hear even a whimper, I RUN to get a bottle because you will be screaming in a matter of seconds.
*You are very good in the car. You normally fall asleep when we ride.
We love you, buddy! It is hard to believe that you are already 3 months!

Happy Valentine's Day!
We had a very low-key day at our house this year. Really, it was just a normal day. The boys went to school, and Joey and I went to work. I did leave my camera with Andrew's teacher to take some pictures of his class party.
Both boys wore matching dinosaur shirts that said, "Mommy loves me BIG TIME!"

We were all sitting in the nursery playing together on Valentine's night. As usual, Andrew pulled ALL of his toys and books out. He likes to sit down and surround himself with all of his stuff. I thought, surely he won't mind if I scoop him up for a quick picture with his daddy and brother...
WRONG! I quickly put him back:)
Joey gave me chocolates, a card, and roses!
However, the best present that he gave me was taking care of the kids and letting me go to bed early...5:56 to be exact! Yes, you read that correctly. I thought that I was getting the flu, but I felt much better once I got some sleep. Saturday, February 11, 2012
