Your Dad Might Be An Engineer If...

he creates a chart for the freezer door to write down everything that you eat! Honestly, I'm really surprised that it took him this long to do it. He does have a love for spreadsheets and charts.

Tag + Simon = Paradise

We still spend a good bit of time with Andrew on the floor each night. We have gotten so much use out of this playmat. Out of all of the toys that we have bought for Andrew, one of his favorite things to play with is the tag on his playmat. He will study it and work with it for several minutes. I love this face because it is classic Andrew. For a baby, he is able to really concentrate well. When he is concentrating, he gets this very serious face and looks so focused.

He also really loves his seahorse named Simon. Simon stays on the playmat so that we don't lose him. Andrew enjoys holding him and knows how to make him play music.

Every once in a while, Simon misbehaves. Andrew has to whip him into shape with a spanking...

or a bite.

Andrew is one happy baby when he is able to position himself to be able to reach both his tag and Simon at the same time!

10 Weeks

Baby Glasgow #2 is 10 weeks old today. S/he is about the size of a strawberry. By the tenth week, the baby has accomplished a great deal. The ears and upper lips are formed. Also, fingers and toes have separated by now. I found this website called "A Peek Inside" that shows what a developing baby looks like each week. Here is the picture for week 10. We need to do some work on that nose:)

This pregnancy could not be more different from Andrew. I was sick with him almost every night. I have not been sick once with this one. I think Joey is very thankful for this since he was always my hair holder and the one in charge of clean up. I do not remember being this tired with Andrew. With this one, I feel like I can barely make it through the day. I am normally in bed by 8:30 each night. Thankfully, Andrew is a great sleeper and an easy baby. I am able to get plenty of rest. Maybe I will get a burst of energy with the second trimester.

T-Ball and a Thief

On a sad note, we have a thief in our house. As I was putting Andrew in his carseat this morning, I noticed something black tucked down in it. I knew what it was right away--a napkin from the restaurant that we went to after church yesterday. I tried to take it back today, but I forgot that the restaurant was closed on Mondays. So, we will return it and apologize tomorrow. Here is my little man with his loot!

Finding Out

Before I tell you about finding out that we were having Baby Glasgow #2, I want to take you back to September 2009. There is a reason, I promise! During this time, Joey and I were trying for our first baby. I was using ovulation strips to test each morning, we were counting the days in my cycle, and doing anything that others had told us would increase our chances no matter how ridiculous it sounded. So, in September, I was certain that I was pregnant. My body is very predictable, and I was late. I took a test each day, but each one came up negative. By my fifth day of being late, I was so confused. How could I be five days late (which had absolutely NEVER happened) and not pregnant? Being that I was pretty ignorant, I just assumed that I was pregnant and that it was too early to show up on a test. I began planning how I would tell Joey the big news. I knew that I wanted to incorportate Ralph, so I went and bought a "Big Brother" shirt for him. My plan was to put the shirt on Ralph before Joey came home as soon as I got a positive test. The next morning (a Sunday) I realized that I was not pregnant. I had gotten up to get ready for church but got so upset that I crawled back into bed and spent the majority of the day crying. I saw the Big Brother shirt later that day, and it was too hard to look at so I tucked it away in the closet. We actually got pregnant 2 months later in November 2009. I got so excited when I saw the test that I screamed and told Joey right away. Later, I regretted telling him that way instead of going through with my original plan of putting the shirt on Ralph. Fast forward 1 1/2 years... On Wednesday, March 2, 2011, I came home from church and was so tired. Wednesdays are such long days for our family. I packed Andrew's lunch and bag for school that night and my mind started wandering. I began trying to figure out the days of my cycle as I packed. Joey and I had decided in January that we would start counting our days, doing ovulation sticks, etc during the month of March for our second child, but that we would not do anything to prevent a baby before that. I finished packing the bags and came to the conclusion that there was a small chance that I could be pregnant. I walked to the bathroom and took this test: Then, I cried (tears of joy) in the bathroom but did not scream this time. I was determined to stay composed. I dug in my closet to find that shirt that had been so painful for me to look at a year and a half ago. Joey and Andrew were playing on the playmat in the den. Without saying a word, I walked up to Andrew and put the shirt on him. It's a size 2T so it swallowed him, but I love that I finally got to use it. I didn't get a very good picture of him because I was crying and talking to Joey, but here is one of him in the shirt still playing on the playmat seconds after Joey found out:

Baby Glasgow #2

We are thrilled to announce that Baby Glasgow #2 is on the way. He/she is due on November 8, 2011! Our entire family (minus Ralph:) went to our first appointment yesterday, and everything looked perfect. The heart was beating at 174 bpm--MUCH faster than Andrew's normal 154. Here is Baby Glasgow #2 at 9 weeks and 2 days. It's not a great picture because I took a picture of the ultrasound instead of scanning it. I think that you can double click it to make it larger. He/she has a very proud big brother!

I like this picture because it looks like he is thinking..."Wait, this means that we are getting another baby?" The truth behind this picture is that he was not happy with me because I would not let him eat the ultrasound.

I will post more soon about how we found out, differences in this pregnancy vs. Andrew, etc. For now, I am just happy that the news is finally out! Praise the Lord for our new addition. We are so very blessed!

Sheesh!

I have been a TERRIBLE blogger lately, and this post doesn't even have any pictures! Sorry! We have really had a lot going on lately, and I lost my camera charger for several days. Anyway, during the past two weeks... *I went to a Bachelorette party for Olivia at Orange Beach. She is getting married to my brother on May 21st! Holy Cow-that is soon! *During my beach trip, Andrew and Joey took a spur of the moment trip to Biloxi to visit family. Needless to say, I was a little shocked when I called to check on them Saturday morning only to find that they were headed to a different state! *Joey is currently on a trip with several guys from our church to Six Flags. *We have watched entirely too much basketball in this house. *We celebrated Randi's birthday with friends. *Andrew has been talking NON-STOP! His favorite phrase is gah, gah, gah. *Andrew is able to sit up independently for about 15 seconds. He is still a little wobbly, though. *Andrew has TWO teeth. It has been pretty impossible to get a picture of these little guys. *We have had to start brushing Andrew's teeth, and he is NOT a fan of this. *Andrew sleeps through the night about 6 out of 7 nights during the week. We seem to have one night a week where he gets up because of teeth. I promise that I will do a better job this week of taking pictures and blogging. I hope that everyone is having a wonderful week!
